Rodney Lynn McDaniel, 72, of Canton, passed away on February 9, 2024, in Canton, Texas. He was born on August 23, 1951, in Troup, Texas, to the late Orval and Ethel McDaniel.

Visitation services for Rodney Lynn McDaniel will be from 10:00 to 11:00 am, with service to follow at 11:00 am on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at Union Grove Cemetery, Troup, Texas.

Rodney was a resident of the Canton community, and he enjoyed spending time with his family. He grew up and attended school in Troup. After high school, he served in the U.S. Air Force for many years. He worked in the oil field, and he retired from Kelly Springfield after 15 years. He loved Harleys and Corvettes. He was an amazing father who put his life on hold to raise his daughter. He will forever be missed by his family and friends.

Rodney is survived by his daughter, Mica McDaniel; his siblings, Kenneth McDaniel of Troup, TX; Louise Fleetwood of Tyler, TX; and Charles McDaniel of Tyler, TX.

Rodney is preceded in death by his parents, Orval and Ethel McDaniel, and his brothers, Jerry McDaniel and David Ray McDaniel.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.
