Ronald Wayne Swinney, 76, of Arp, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2024, in his home in Arp, Texas. He was born on June 13, 1948 in SwinneyTown, Texas, to the late Lucille Blackwell and Bill Swinney, Jr.
A memorial service will be held in his honor at 11:00 A.M on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Community Baptist Church, SwinneyTown, Texas with Pastor Cliborn officiating.
Ronald was a resident of the Arp community, and he enjoyed spending time with his family. He was married to the love of his life, Nelda Swinney of Arp for 52 years and was a loving father and grandfather. He was drafted to serve in the United States Army as a Combat Field Medic and after his time in the US Army, he worked as a Master-carpenter and Elite construction manager. He will forever be missed by his family and friends.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Nelda; daughter Heather Smith and Frank of Arp and their children; Elaina, Frank IV, Joshua Wayne, and Austie; son Bill Swinney III and Angie of Harrison, TN and their children; Alexis, Michaela, Megan, and Madysen; sister Donna Kay Fields and Tommy; brothers Gary Dale Swinney and Terry Joe Swinney; as well as 9 Great Grandchildren; and many other dear relatives and friends.
Ronald is preceded in death by his parents and brother Billy Don Swinney.
