Ruby Evelyn (Martin) Cherry

Ruby Evelyn Martin Cherry, 94, of Troup, Texas, passed away on June 29, 2020, in Tyler, Texas. She was born August 28, 1925, in Corsicana, Texas to the late Charles and Ida Duvall Martin.

Funeral services for will be 10:00 am, Friday, July 3, 2020, at Cottle Funeral Home chapel, Troup with Reverend David Jimerson officiating. Burial will follow at Knoxville Cemetery, Troup.

Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Thursday, July 2, 2020, at Cottle Funeral Home chapel, Troup.

Evelyn graduated from Troup High School in 1942, and she was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary-1952. She was a member of the Blackjack Baptist Church of Troup.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Rayford Cherry, daughter, Joyce A. Harris, brother, Douglas C. Martin, and sisters-in-law, Evelyn C. Martin, and Frances Oden.

She is survived by her sons, Donald R. Cherry and wife Elaine of Pasadena, David M. Cherry and wife Alice of Troup, Michael L. Cherry and wife Linda of Troup, and Gregory W. Cherry and wife Georgia of Lake Jackson; 20 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Chuck Cherry, Kelley Harris, Andrew Cherry, Travis Cherry, Marion Howell, and Ryan Davis.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.
