Visitations for Sharene Margaret Bateman, 69, Arp, are scheduled for Friday August 28,2020 from 6pm-8pm in the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home Chapel.
Mrs. Bateman passed away, Wednesday, August 18, 2020 in a Longview Hospital.
She was born June 14, 1951 in Miami, Florida to the late Albert Franklin Mitchell and Isa Belle Platt. After moving to Texas in 1981, Mrs. Bateman married her longtime friend, Van Buren Bateman February 12, 1998. she made Arp her home where she raised her children and served her community for many wonderful years. Mrs. Bateman retired as a Customer Service Representative for Suddenlink. She was a member of Arp Emmanuel Baptist Church in Arp. She enjoyed reading, crafting ,Bingo, playing cards, shopping, watching old Westerns, drawing, listening to her good old country music, she loved “her Johny’s” cooking but most of all, she loved her family and friends. She never really met a stranger and to know her, was to know that when she spoke to you, she was speaking her truth.
Mrs. Bateman is proceeded in death by her husband, Van Buren Bateman; daughter, Laurie Anne Stewart, brother, Thomas Reilly.
Survivors include her daughter, Cindi Forshee and husband John W. Forshee of New London; son, William (Billy) Lee Witherspoon of Arp; daughter in love, Karen Massey of Liberty City; granddaughter, Cindi Raine Stewart Miles and husband Matthew, Ft Worth; grandson, John Ryan Forshee of Tyler; grandson in Love Trent Faucheaux of Tyler, Trevor Lee Starnes of Joinerville; granddaughter Cori Brooke Holt and husband Jesse of College Station, grandson, Jace Thomas Forshee of New London; Chanon Gage Stewart and wife Emily of Chandler; granddaughter Destiny Vaughn of Tyler; grandson, Roman Sawyer Forshee of New London; sister, Patti Mallingholm, of Vero Beach, Fl: brother, Marvin Reilly Sr of Springfield, Ga: Charlotte Diaz of Statesboro, Ga; Jimmy Dale Centers of Guyton, Ga. She was blessed with 2 great grandsons and 2 great granddaughters along with many other family and friends she loved and cherished.
Arrangements are under the direction of Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home, Overton.
