Steven Wayne Rambo, 62, passed away on July 13, 2025, in Troup, Texas, at home after a lengthy battle with Lewy Body Dementia/Parkinson’s.
He was born January 6, 1963, in San Antonio, Texas, to Roy William "Bill" Rambo and Betty Lou Crenshaw Rambo.
Steven loved the Lord, his family, his dogs, the Texas Rangers, and the Dallas Cowboys.
A graduate of Jacksonville High School, Steven spent the majority of his adult years working in recreation at Rusk State Hospital and Azleway Boys' Ranch. At Azleway, he had a profound effect on many troubled youths, leading them to Christ and being a role model.
He is survived by his parents, Bill and Betty Rambo of Jacksonville; his sister, Beckie Greene of Jacksonville; his wife, Toni Rambo of Troup; his sons: Cordon Rambo of Troup, Benjamin Rambo of Houston, and Kerry Hance of Quitman; daughter-in-law, Chasity Hance of New London; grandchildren, Adilynn Hance, Briley Hance, and Roran Hance of New London; numerous beloved nieces and nephews; and sisters-in-law: Debi Reasoner (Terry) of Wolverton, Daphne Patrick of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, and Vicki Roe of Broken Bow, Oklahoma.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, July 19, at 2:00 p.m. at The Gospel Barn Church, 22160 Hwy 110 South, in Troup, Texas. Visitation will be held from 1:30 to 2:00 p.m., prior to the service.
Arrangements are under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup, Texas.
