Susie Mae Lindsey

Susie Mae Lindsey, 89, of Mixon, passed away on October 30, 2023, in Troup, Texas. She was born on October 23, 1934, in Kennedale, Texas, to the late William F. and Lucy Mae Elrod Cooper.

Funeral services for Susie Lindsey will be 2:00 pm, Thursday, November 2, 2023, at First Baptist Church, Mixon, Texas with Reverend Preston Lindsey, Keith Lindsey, and Kent Lindsey officiating, with burial following at Mixon Cemetery, Mixon.

Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, Thursday, November 2, 2023, at First Baptist Church, Mixon.

Susie was a resident of the Mixon community and a member of the First Baptist Church, Mixon. She graduated from Mansfield High School, Tyler Junior College, Stephen F. Austin University, and Kilgore Jr. College; she earned her master’s degree in education. She taught at Troup ISD, Chapel Hill ISD, Whitehouse ISD and Overton ISD. She enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling with her husband, Curtis.

Susie is survived by her Children; Preston Lindsey and wife Kelli of Mixon, Tx, Keith Lindsey and wife Barbara, and Kent Lindsey and wife Melissa of Mixon, Tx; brother,, Phillip Cooper of Rockport, Billy Cooper and wife Pattie of Mixon, ; sister, Dianne Hamilton of Mixon;  sister-in-law, Robbie Cooper of Whitehouse; Seven Grandchildren; Amber Lowry, Cassie Lindsey, Caleb Lindsey, Kala Lindsey, Ty Lindsey, Curt Lindsey, and Kristin Dickey; and seven Great-Grandchildren; Cooper Lindsey, Jack Lindsey, Cadence Ellis, Emersyn Lindsey, Kathryn Lindsey, Lindsey Lowry, Grady Lowry; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Susie is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Curtis Lindsey, grandson, Gabe Coltellaro brother, Charles Cooper, sister-in-law, Linda Cooper, and brother-in-law, Sammy Hamilton.
