Thelma Anne Walker

Thelma Anne Walker, 88, of Troup, passed away on December 9, 2024, in Tyler, Texas. She was born on September 14, 1936, in Tyler, Texas, to the late Carl and Lena Linnstaedter Archer.

Funeral service for Thelma Walker will be at 2:00 pm, Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Cottle Funeral Home Chapel, Troup, Texas with Reverend Steven Oakes officiating. Burial will follow at Henry’s Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Friday, December 13, 2024, at Cottle Funeral Home in Troup, Texas.

Thelma was a resident of the Troup community, and she enjoyed spending time with her family, shopping, decorating and loved animals, especially Dachshunds. She was a manager for the GNC store in the Broadway Mall. She worked with her late husband Dr. Bruce Walker as his assistant in his Emergency Animal Care. She will forever be missed by her family and friends.

Thelma is survived by her children, Kevin McElroy and wife Marnie of Troup, Chloe McElroy and Sharon Lubcker of Troup, and Glen Boyd, Jr. and wife Connie of Oklahoma; brother, James Archer of Decatur, TX; 7 grandchildren, Luke McElroy and wife Sharon, Jessica Garland, Casey McElroy and wife Amber, Erica Garland, Cody Boyd, David Boyd and Matthew Garland; 22 great-grandchildren; niece, Dr. Kerstin Archer and nephew, Kendall Archer.

Thelma is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Dr. Bruce Walker, son, Carl McElroy, daughter, Karen Garland, grandsons, David McElroy Kyle McElroy, Aaron McElroy and brother, Dr. Stanley Archer.

Pallbearers will be Grandsons.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.
