Theodore Hurley Echard, Jr.

Theodore “Ted” Hurley Echard, Jr., 84, passed away on July 22, 2025 in Troup, Texas. He was born February 25, 1941, in Troup, Texas, to the late Theodore Hurley Echard, Sr. and Mary Lee Hune Echard.

Ted enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He retired from IBM Corporation where he worked as a Service Representative for 30 years, and a member of Arp Emmanuel Baptist Church.  He will be forever missed by his family and friends.

Ted is preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Mary Jane Ferrill and Florence Ann Collins.

Ted is survived by his wife Martha Echard; sons, Theodore “Ted” Hurley Echard, III and wife Susan and Leon Earl Echard; 4 grandchildren, Ty Echard, Molly Echard, Jon Werner, and JT Werner; great-grandchildren, Elli Werner, and Beaux Werner; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Ted Echard, Jr., will be 2:00 pm, Friday, July 25, 2025, at Arp Emmanuel Baptist Church with Reverend Doctor Ron Klingsick officiating, with Visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial to follow at Ebenezer Cemetery, Arp.
