Tommy Lee Gentry, 83, of Troup, passed away on December 16, 2024, in Whitehouse, Texas. He was born on June 14, 1941, in Purcell, Oklahoma, to the late Johnnie Lee and Nettie Louise Lowe Gentry.
Graveside services for Tommy Gentry will be at 2:00 pm, Friday, December 20, 2024, at Pinecrest, Cemetery, Troup, Texas, with Phil Hancock officiating.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Thursday, December 19, 2024, at Cottle Funeral Home in Troup, Texas.
Tommy was a resident of the Troup community for 77 years, and he enjoyed spending time with his family. He was the manager at the telephone company, a logger, and a truck driver. He loved horseback riding, working on trucks, and helping his community. He will forever be missed by his family and friends.
Tommy is survived by his wife Sandra Gentry of Troup; son, Jeff Gentry; daughter, Terra Gentry of Fredericksburg; sisters, Shirley Ham of Troup, and Johnnye Sue Martin of Troup; 4 grandchildren, Brandt Gentry, Mackenzie Schafer, Kaley Gentry, and Jackson Gentry and great-grandchild, Tommy Lee Gentry.
Tommy is preceded in death by his parents, son, Jerry Gentry and sister, Nellie Cheatwood..
Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Bates, Dale Martin, Paul Ray Cheatwood, Rodney Manchette, Brian Ham, Brandt Gentry, Shawn Martin and Jackson Gentry .
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
Arrangements are under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.
