Vernon Louis Bedair, of Arp, Texas, passed away on January 24, 2025, in Bullard, Texas. He was born on October 13, 1945, in Arp, Tx, to the late H.C. and Verna Mae Mitchell Bedair.
Funeral services for Vernon Bedair will be at 2:00 pm, on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at Arp Emmanuel Baptist Church in Arp, Texas with Reverend Doctor Ron Klingsick officiating. Burial to follow at Mason Cemetery, Arp, Tx.
Visitation services for Family and friends will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, on Monday, January 27, 2025, at Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home in Overton, Texas.
Vernon married Patricia (Pat) Ann Locklear on February 25, 1966. Together they have 2 daughters: Kimberly Bedair Kennedy (Robert) and Jennifer Bedair Todd (Jason). His favorite pass times were working in his shop, traveling and camping. He retired from Eastman Chemical of Longview after 45 years of employment. He was a lifelong member of Arp Emmanuel Baptist Church. He served as Mayor of the City of Arp, Tx from 1986-2008, during his tenure he was able to secure federal grant funds to enable the city to construct a new water tower and a new sewer system.
Vernon was preceded in death by: son Vernon Craig Bedair, parents H.C. and Verna Mae Bedair, and brother Tommy Glenn Bedair.
He is survived by his wife Mrs. Pat Bedair, daughters Kimberly Kennedy (Robert) of Frankston and Jennifer Todd (Jason) of Arp; grandsons, Robert Clay Kennedy and Jayden Zachary Todd; sisters, Barbara Bedair Rossman of Longview, and Ann Bedair Robinson (Randy) of Grand Saline.
Pallbearers will be cousins, David Dudley, Marvin Dudley, Mitch Mitchell, brothers-in-law, Richard Locklear, Frank Locklear and Bill Locklear.
Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons, Clay Kennedy and Jayden Todd, nephews, Brandon Bedair, Ted Locklear and Dair Rossman.
Arrangements are under the direction of Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home, Overton, Texas.
