Virgil Eugene Minor III, of Overton Texas passed away on 1-9-26, in Overton, Tx. He was born on 12-28-1947 in Overton, Texas, to the late Virgil E. Minor II and Patsy J. Minor.
Funeral services for Virgil Eugene Minor III will be held graveside at 1 PM on Friday, January 16th, 2026, at Overton Cemetery 701 E Henderson St, Overton, TX 75684.
Virgil Eugene Minor III he proudly served the United States Navy as Petty Officer 1st class, where he carried the values of discipline, loyalty, and honor throughout his life. He retired in 2013 from E&S Manufacturing as a Quality Control Inspector Manager. Virgil preferred to be called by his childhood nickname “Buster”, he was a very proud member of NRA, Republican Party and enjoyed being of service to his community and as a trusted public servant to the Overton City Council in the 1990’s. He lived a life defined by service, integrity, and love for both country and family. Buster had many special quality trade skills in mechanics, an inventor and a deep love for the outdoors. He loved camping, hunting, trapping and fishing that he felt most at home under the open skies. These moments were often shared with family and friends creating memories that will be treasured forever. He was an exceptional competitor, marksman and a strong force to be reckoned with in all aspects of life. He touched the lives of many with his wisdom, generosity and compassion with a listening ear and for being a helping hand to anyone in need of his help. He was a fiercely loving father, friend and grandfather who will be dearly and deeply missed.
Survivors include daughter Michelle Marie Minor Maddon, son-in-law Michael E. Maddon, sister Camille Minor, grandchildren Decklen G. Aceituno, Tristin E. Minor, Mikayla M. Maddon, Sophia A. Maddon and Ayden J. Minor.
Virgil E. Minor III was proceeded in death by son Virgil E. Minor IV, sister Patsy G. Minor Osburn, parents Virgil E. Minor II and Patsy J. Minor.
