Walter Richie Jackson

Mr. Walter Richie "Fuji" Jackson went to be with the Lord on April 29, 2021 at the age of 66.

Fuji was born in Sallisaw, Oklahoma on February 12, 1955 to Robert Ellis Jackson and Mary Louise Dunsford.

He was a Christian who attended Overton Missionary Baptist Church.

Fuji graduated high school in Sallisaw, Oklahoma in 1973. He went to junior college in Ft. Smith, Arkansas to become a respiratory therapist, which he practiced for 41 years. He worked at Dmeco in Kilgore Texas, at ETMC in Tyler Texas and Overton Memorial Hospital. He volunteered with the Overton Fire Dept. and Ambulance Service. 

He enjoyed spending time with family. He was a member of the Kilgore Horseshoe Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping at Kiamichie State Park in Hugo, Oklahoma.

Fuji was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Jackson and Mary Dunsford, and father-in-law John Delbert Gray. 

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Carol Jackson; his sons Christopher Jackson and wife Karen of Longview; and John Paul Jackson of Kilgore; his brother James Robert Jackson of Sallisaw, Oklahoma; mother-in-law Edna Gray of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Cathie Bryant and husband Fred of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; Connie Egleston and husband Hank of Tulsa, Oklahoma and nieces and nephews.
