Wanda Fay Wood, age 87, of Arp, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2026. She was born on June 9, 1938, in Holly Springs, Arkansas, to her parents, Henry Samuel Williams and Nora Williams.
Wanda was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose home was always open and welcoming. She was known for her generous heart and her readiness to feed anyone who walked through the door, whether expected or not. Her love for her family and friends was evident in everything she did.
She worked as a Secretary for CB&I, where she was known for her dedication and strong work ethic. Outside of work, Wanda found joy in her faith as a member of the Church of Christ, as well as in fishing and reading—simple pleasures she cherished throughout her life.
She is survived by her loving son, Sammy Wood and wife Jennifer Wood; her grandson, Casey Wood and wife Sophie Wood ; and many extended family members and friends who will miss her deeply.
Wanda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rex Wood; her grandson, Cody Wood; her parents; and her siblings, Richard William, Margie Courbin, and Alice Ruth.
A graveside service will be held at Mason Cemetery in Arp, Texas, on Friday, February 6, 2026, at 2:00 PM.
Wanda Fay Wood will be remembered for her kindness, her faith, her love of family, and the warmth she shared so freely with everyone who knew her.
