Willard W. Stallings, 96, of Jacksonville, passed away on April 30, 2023, in Jacksonville, Texas. He was born on November 28, 1926, in Cherokee County, Texas, to the late John Henry and Bevie Lou Bird Stallings.
Graveside services for Willard Stallings will be 10:00 am, Friday, May 5, 2023, at McDonald Cemetery, New Summerfield, with Brother Philip Strong officiating.
Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Thursday, May 4, 2023, at Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.
Willard was a resident of the Jacksonville community his entire life and a member of the Church of Christ. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, where he was Private First Class in the 1303rd Engineers General Service Regiment. He received the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Ribbon, Army of Occupation Ribbon, Japan Victory Ribbon, and 1 Overseas Service Bar. He enjoyed spending time with his family and loved them with all of his heart.
Willard is survived by his daughter, Claudia Lydick and husband Larry of Jacksonville; 2 grandchildren, Brian Vickery, and Scott Flenniken; 3 great-grandchildren, Justice Lawrence Flenniken, Levi Blaze Stallings, and Christoper Dale Gaulden, Jr.
Willard is preceded in death by his parents, wife Mary Ann Stallings, son John Stallings, and granddaughter, Melonie Jo Stallings.
Arrangements are under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.
