A Memorial service for William Elliott will be at 10:30 am on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Overton Assembly of God Church, Overton, Texas with Christopher Harman, Brandon Brown, and Colby Elliott speaking.
William Dell Elliott went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 11, 2024, at the age of 88. He was born on July 28, 1936, in Troup, Texas to Dell Franklin Elliott and Mary Mattie Elliott. William married his deeply beloved wife, Shirley, on February 20, 1957. They were married 64 years at the time of her passing. Together, they enjoyed gardening, Saturday night dates, mornings at the Family Life Center, and taking care of the churchyard. Above all else, they loved spending time with their beautiful family. What a wonderful, blessed moment when he was able to see and hold Shirley once again!
William provided for his family working many years in the oilfield, where he earned the nickname “Sarge”.
He leaves behind his son, Jerry Elliott, and wife Tamara; daughter, Diana Bartley, and husband Ronnie; and daughter, Cheryl Harman, and husband Kirk. He was PawPaw or Papa E to 7 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, mother, father, and faithful dog, Nubbin. He is survived by numerous family members and friends.
Pallbearers: Justin Brown, Colby Elliott, Brandon Brown, Seth Elliott, Sean Harman, Christopher Harman
Special Friends: Bill Bragg, Robert Edwards, and employees of Overton Dairy Queen
