William Travis Messer, 85, of Troup, passed away on September 21, 2024, in Tyler, Texas. He was born on November 18, 1938, in Jacksonville, Texas, to the late William Thomas and Eva Denton Messer.
Graveside service for William Messer will be at 2:00 pm, Sunday, September 29, 2024, at Henry’s Chapel Cemetery, Troup, Texas with Reverend Chris Clem officiating.
Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm, Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.
William was a resident of the Troup community, and he enjoyed spending time with his family. His grandkids and great grandkids meant everything to him. He was a retired Mechanical Engineer. He enjoyed woodworking, playing dominos, gardening, dogs, eating tic tacs, and drinking coffee at Sonic with his friends, Jerry Conaroe and Norman Warren. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He will forever be missed by his family and friends.
William is survived by his children, Bryan Messer of Dallas, Kristen Drew and husband Darren of Tulsa, OK, and Michelle Crouch of Troup; 15 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren.
William is preceded in death by his wife, Margo Messer, sons, Mark Messer, Billy Messer, and daughter, Terry Hall.
Arrangements are under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.
