Winnie Dell Morris, 84, of Joinerville, Texas went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 15, 2023. She was born in Tyler, Texas on April 16, 1939, to the late Emory and Winnie Scoggins. She Married the love of her life, and together they had three children. She was a Member of Rock Hill Faith Community Church and Loved being a Sunday School Teacher. Mrs. Winnie retired in 1994 after a Career of 24 years teaching in Wyoming and Texas Public Schools. She was a member of The Eastern Star, Methodist Women’s Circle, Girl Scout Leader, and a SFA Duchess. She enjoyed quilting, knitting, piano, playing the organ in church, puzzles, and traveling.
Visitation for Winnie Dell Morris will be from 10:00 am-11:00 am, and Service to follow at 11:00 am on Monday, May 22, 2023, at Cottle Pearson Funeral Home, Overton, Texas with Reverend Dr. J. B. Morris, Reverend Randall Morris and Reverend Cody Walker officiating.
She is survived by her husband, Rev. Dr. J. B. Morris; children, Belinda K. Walker, Randall W. Morris, and wife Selen, and Michael L. Morris and wife Nely. Sisters; Jenny Greene and Susie Fiorey, 9 Grandchildren; Laura R. Morris, Stephanie R. Morris, Cody R. Walker and wife Judy, Christopher L. Morris, Cedric W. Morris, Izzabel Morris, Kevin D. Miller, and Darrian R. Miller; 7 Great Grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
She is Preceded in Death by her parents; Emory Sedell and Winnie Fred Scoggins; Sister Doris E Taylor; Son-in-Law Roy "Butch" Walker; Granddaughter Sophie Rae Walker.
Funeral services are under the direction of Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home, Overton, Texas.
